Create Confidence Challenge Day 1

Create Confidence Challenge Day 1

Day 1 of the Create Confidence Challenge

Today we are going to tackle self-love.

WAIT! Don’t roll your eyes at me! Stay with me ok?

Before we can tackle self-love, we’re going to start with a bit of self-like.

Yes, if you’re not into the whole self-love ish, then we start with a little bit of self-like.

You’re probably not really close to truly loving yourself yet.

And on top of that, you’re probably shaming yourself for not loving yourself, because every women’s magazine, inspirational Pinterest, Instagram, and FB quote out there is telling you “Loving yourself is the secret to everything you want in life!”

Spoiler alert: Ok it is.

BUT…

It’s not what you think.

You can’t just tell yourself that you “should” love yourself, because this just creates one more thing you’re <beeping> up in life.

So, forget loving yourself.

We’re not working on aspirational Instagram-porn here.

We’re working on baby steps.

Some thoughts you can actually believe.

Your challenge for today is to write down 10 things you like about yourself.

These can be ANYTHING you like about yourself:

  1. Something physical
  2. Any habits
  3. Your personality
  4. Anything

If you have a hard time writing them down point-blank, you can write some phrases like “Sometimes I am X” or “I am learning how to Y.”

Note: The absolute most IMPORTANT thing is to keep going until you get to 10. DO NOT accept “I don’t know” or “I can’t think of any more”!

No matter how long it takes. If you don’t allow less than 10 to be an option, your brain will figure out how to get there.

READ OVER THE LIST. HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Calm?
Focused?
Happy?
Proud?

Those are feelings.

“I feel like I didn’t deserve any of that”? THAT IS NOT A FEELING. That’s a whole other thought. Don’t go there.

So, read the list, and write down one word that describes a feeling you have when you read it.

I guarantee it feels better than your normal thought process – and it should.
